Superstar Rajinikanth is occupied filming Vettaiyan, his next project under TJ Gnanavel's direction. The movie combines dramatic action scenes with a potent social message. In this movie, Rajinikanth plays a police officer. The film's producers have stated that it would be released on october 10th, coinciding with the dasara festival.

Rajini was recently photographed at an airport, when reporters questioned him over Vettaiyan and indian 2. "I saw indian 2, and it's a good movie," Rajini retorted. The release date for Vettaiyan has not yet been set. Dubbing is now underway. The filming of Coolie has begun, and things are moving along nicely.
