Vice President Kamala harris gained a two percentage point advantage over Republican nominee donald trump following US President Joe Biden's sunday announcement that he was handing over the reins for his reelection campaign. The Reuters/Ipsos poll carried out the survey.
 
According to a survey from last week, Biden trails Republican contender donald trump by two points. As of right now, Kamala harris is leading donald trump in the latest survey that was carried out on monday and tuesday following the Republican National Convention, where trump formally accepted the nomination and Joe Biden left.
 
In the national survey, Kamala harris led trump 44% to 42%; the difference was within the 3-percentage-point margin of error.


1,241 US people countrywide were questioned for the online survey, 1,018 of whom were registered voters.
 
The 81-year-old Joe Biden abandoned his reelection campaign following a june debate in which he was observed stuttering and unable to vigorously refute the Republican nominee's accusations.
 
In his initial words following his decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential contest against Republican donald trump, Joe Biden stated on wednesday that he did it out of worry for the future of the nation.
 

"I cherish this position," Biden declared. "But I love my country more."
 
"I've determined that passing the torch to the next generation is the wisest course of action. That is how we can effectively bring our country together," stated Biden.
