Barack obama, the outgoing president, has resisted Kamala Harris's endorsement as the party's new front-runner for the US presidency thus far. The New York Post reports that obama has not endorsed harris, whom US President Joe Biden backed after withdrawing from the race on Sunday, because he believes she cannot defeat Republican nominee Donald Trump.

An insider close to the Biden family told The New York Post, "Obama is very upset because he knows she can't win." "Obama, the border czar who never went to the border and said that all immigrants should have health care, is aware of her incompetence. The source said that she is unable to avoid the landmines on her path. "When you are running for president there are things you can and can't say."

According to the insider, obama wanted to push Biden away, and part of his strategy included urging the actor to resign in an essay.

According to the individual who spoke with The New York Post, obama wanted senator Mark Kelly of Arizona to be "at the top of the ticket" at the Democratic National Convention the following month.

"Obama is furious, things haven't gone his way, which is why he is not joining in the Democratic Party's support of harris," said a source.

But according to NBC news on Thursday, barack obama intends to support Kamala harris shortly.

Obama has been in regular touch with harris and has informally endorsed her candidature, according to the story, which cited people familiar with the conversations.

"Aides to obama and harris also have discussed arranging for the two of them to appear together on the campaign trail, though no date has been set," according to the newspaper.
