With support from karan johar, puri Jagannadh's previous project Liger starring vijay deverakonda was meant to be a pan-Indian movie featuring ananya Panday as the lead role. The movie was a complete flop and an embarrassment. However, puri never gave up and is back with Double iSmart, the much anticipated follow-up to his hit movie iSmart Shankar, which opens on august 15.
 
Additionally, this is envisioned as a pan-Indian movie with celebrities like Sanjay Dutt. Double iSmart has a good potential of becoming a successful pan-Indian movie because the first installment, iSmart Shankar, is also rather well-liked by the hindi audience. Three other big-budget films are also releasing on the same day as the movie, so competition for the picture will be fierce. Thursday, august 15, will see a lot of activity at the box office due to the prolonged vacation season, which also includes Raksha Bandhan on august 19.
 
On that date, the films Double iSmart, Vedaa, Khel Khel Mein, and stree 2 will be released. The reception to the stree 2 teaser has been excellent, and expectations are high that this movie will become the greatest success in hindi this year thus far. Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein features an intriguing theme. The audience will select this as their second option. Vedaa, starring john Abraham, is not receiving much attention at the moment, but that may change if the teaser is strong.
 
Double iSmart has a difficult road ahead of it to become successful in the hindi market given this fierce competition.
