The gang is reuniting at Marvel Studios. Except for one recognizable face, that is. It was announced shortly after the house of Ideas' main Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con on saturday night that stephen McFeely would be penning the screenplays for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. christopher Markus, McFeely's co-writer on their prior entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was conspicuously absent from the announcement.

Markus and McFeely co-wrote Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Civil War. The two have a lengthy history of working together with Joe and Anthony Russo, who will both be returning to helm the next two Avengers films. In a post-endgame scenario, the brothers will even be joining the team at their new AGBO label.

Anthony Russo said to Hall H on saturday, "That four-movie run was incredible, and it left us creatively spent with all our emotions on the floor." "In the time since, through a very special story, Joe and I have come to potentially see a road forward with you all." It's interesting to note that hollywood insider Jeff Sneider seems to have leaked information on Robert Downey Jr.'s comeback as doctor Doom earlier this month.
