In order to avoid unfortunate events similar to those that occurred at the delhi International airport, which is also run by GMR, in june, the state government has chosen to carry out a safety assessment of the GMR hyderabad International Airport. The airport's structural strength will be inspected and evaluated independently by structural experts from IIT Delhi. On june 28, during a period of intense rain, a canopy at Terminal 1's former departure courtyard fell, killing one passenger.
 
"We've given the event at the delhi airport significant attention. We've made the decision to thoroughly inspect hyderabad International Airport. The Deccan Chronicle was informed on saturday by Komatireddy venkat Reddy, the minister for roads and buildings, that "we will conduct a thorough inspection of structural strength." He stated that preliminary checks had already been completed by R&B department representatives and that they would continue.


According to venkat Reddy, there are plans to host structural experts from IIT delhi at the airport in the near future to conduct an impartial evaluation of the airport's structural robustness. The state government has decided to conduct a safety audit of the GMR hyderabad International airport to prevent untoward incidents as was witnessed at the delhi International airport, which is also operated by GMR, in June. Structural engineers from IIT delhi will be engaged to inspect and make independent assessment of the structural strength of the airport.
