Dharma Nadendla, 41, of north carolina obtained $865,000 in casino markers at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas by using a counterfeit cheque, which he promptly lost. dharma Nadendla, an Indian-born Telugu, appeared at the casino cashier's cage with a $380,000 cheque purportedly from a credit union. He was given gambling chips worth $865,000 based on this cheque.

He then played table games and lost markers valued at $500,000 and $365,000. Nadendla went back to his hotel room after misplacing the markers and made a call to the cashier's cage to get another marker. After growing suspicious, an Aria employee looked at the cheque more carefully and found differences in the cheque numbers. After learning that the cheque was fraudulent and had only been worth $174.80, the casino got in touch with the credit union in North Carolina.

The employee instructed dharma Nadendla to return to the casino floor to obtain another marker in order to be apprehended. Nadendla was greeted by LVMPD police who had been notified by the casino personnel as he got closer to the hotel lift. dharma Nadendla is accused with forgery, business burglary, and theft of $100,000 or more. He has been ordered to appear in Las Vegas Justice court on august 28 after posting bond.
