Needless to say BRS mla Harish Rao. harish rao won as an mla from the siddipet constituency with a majority of 93328 votes in the assembly elections held after the formation of a separate state of telangana in the year 2014. In 2018, he won with a record majority of 1,18,699 votes from the siddipet constituency. With a landslide victory in the 2018 assembly elections, he became the youngest member of the Legislative assembly in india for six terms. On september 8, 2019, chief minister kcr assumed charge as the Finance Minister. Also, the previous BRS government also issued an order on november 9, 2021, assigning additional responsibilities to harish rao as the health Minister.
If you look at Harish Rao's track record, he was first elected as a member of the Legislature in 2004 from siddipet Legislative assembly Constituency in the united Andhra Pradesh. He also served as minister of youth Services and Printing Stationery in the Rajasekhar reddy Cabinet. kcr had to vacate the siddipet seat as he was elected to the siddipet Legislative assembly and karimnagar parliamentary seats. But harish rao was elected in the by-election held in that vacant seat. harish rao grew up as a good leader and won the affection of the people of the constituency. He also led tireless movements for the formation of telangana state. He contested the by-elections held in october 2004 and won with a majority of 24827 votes. He won the 2008 by-election with a record majority of 58935 votes against the congress candidate. He won the assembly elections in 2009 with 64014 votes. harish rao won the by-elections held in 2010 with 95858 votes with the highest majority in the state of andhra pradesh and overturned the record of 68,681 votes obtained by YS Rajasekhara reddy in pulivendula constituency in 2009.
