In the 2019 elections, lokesh, who contested as a tdp candidate from mangalagiri, was defeated by ycp candidate alla ramakrishna reddy by five thousand votes. With that, he resigned from his ministerial position and continued as an MLC. However, TDP's defeat had a strong impact on Lokesh. Even then tdp did not have central support and differences with janasena also increased. Thus tdp party was left alone. Since then there have been many changes in Lokesh. Even though he did not lose, he stayed in mangalagiri from time to time thinking of people's problems as his problems and fighting for them. With that, he got good political experience and criticized the government. When he came, the government also saw lokesh as a full-fledged politician. The people also noticed this and accepted him as a politician. Due to this, tdp formed a coalition in the recent elections and received a huge victory. lokesh won from the place where he lost with a huge majority and made people understand what he is.
