The free bus program for women was one of the main pledges made by the TDP-JSP-BJP coalition in their platform. It was just stated that this plan will go into effect on august 15. In the meanwhile, apsrtc representatives have written an extensive report on the execution of this program. It was said that this strategy would be likely to load rtc with an estimated Rs. 250 crores every month.

When rtc officials visited telangana and karnataka, the states where this system is being implemented, they looked at a number of things, including which buses are covered by the program, how the government is paying for the burden, and other relevant variables. At tomorrow's rtc and Transport review meeting, the authorities and chief minister Chandrababu Naidu are anticipated to address their report.

RTC buses carry 36–37 lakh passengers on a regular basis, with women making up 40% of the passengers. That indicates that 15 lakh women frequently use rtc buses, and that they would now have free transportation. The free bus program in telangana is applicable to city ordinary and metro express buses in urban regions, Palle Velugu, Ultra Palle Velugu, and Express buses in rural areas. Express services to rural regions and services to Bengaluru city are free of charge in Karnataka.

In vijayawada and Vishakapatnam, the apsrtc authorities want to offer free transit in Palle Velugu, Ultra Palle Velugu, Express services, and city regular and metro services. The officials in telangana and karnataka are not giving any tickets to women. The primary ticket rate will be noted in the machine even if there are no fees. The total cost for uncharged complimentary tickets will be determined in this manner. Following the scheme's implementation, telangana and karnataka saw an increase in occupancy from 65-70% to 95%. The occupancy rate in ap is now between 69 and 70 percent, and after the plan is put into place, it should reach comparable numbers.

From ticket sales, rtc receives an average monthly income of Rs. 500 crores, of which Rs. 250 crores are spent on diesel. Since the government pays rtc personnel' salaries, rtc pays the government a monthly sum equal to 25% of its total revenue, or around Rs. 125 crores. Now that the free ticket program is in place, rtc won't have to provide the government this sum of money. Furthermore, the government ought to simply pay rtc back Rs. 125 crores in exchange.
