Recently, the tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) deliberated on enacting new regulations for the sector, among them the dismissal of Puratchi Thalapathy Vishal. Actor dhanush was also given a red card by the TFPC, it was reported today. The council has also decided on important matters about an impending strike and created new rules for OTT releases.
While dhanush was given a red card because he took many producers' advances for new projects, vishal was given one because it was believed that he misused the council's money while serving as president of the TFPC. Producers that intend to collaborate with dhanush are required by the TFPC to first communicate with the council before to initiating their endeavours.
Additionally, the TFPC declared that big-name films may only be distributed on over-the-top (OTT) platforms following an 8-week (56-day) theatrical run. There has also been a revision to the OTT release window for small-budget and Tier 2 stars. The tamil film industry is getting up for a big labour dispute. august 15th is the cutoff date for new tamil movie productions. Films that are already in production need to finish by october 31st, since production will stop completely on november 1st.
