The actor behind the only indian film to make over two billion dollars, Dangal, aamir khan, is renowned for his outstanding taste in films and dedication to fine filmmaking. Even if there are some concerns about Dangal's potential in China, it continues to be the highest-grossing indian movie ever made. Aamir has reportedly chosen to play the protagonist in a remake of Vijay Sethupathi's huge smash Maharaja, according to various media sources.

Remaking a movie in this day and age, though, would not be the wisest move, particularly given how popular South indian films are with North indian viewers. Maharaja has left a lasting impression both in theatres and on over-the-top platforms. After Maharaja received widespread praise, aamir khan chose it. bollywood versions of South indian films, however, frequently receive conflicting reviews at the box office. Aamir intends to alter the plot of the bollywood model and incorporate his distinct style in order to appeal to a larger audience throughout all of India.

The picture still has to be adapted to a wider audience, which is a barrier that many remakes fall short of. Bollywood's track record with remakes has been patchy at best. While some films, including Sarfira, Bachchan Pandey, Ghajini, and vikram Vedha, were huge hits, others, like Jersey, failed terribly. Due to language and cultural barriers, Aamir's most recent film, Laal Singh Chaddha, an adaption of Forrest Gump, was a huge failure. Another concern is that audiences are favouring original material more and more these days. It's possible that viewers won't give this remake a chance at all.

Many think that by replicating a popular movie like Maharaja, Aamir, who has failed to find big success in the previous eight years, is committing a mistake. Given that viewers are increasingly drawn to new and original material, this choice may only damage his existing reputation.
