When you represent your nation on a platform as large as the Olympics, there are many stakes involved. And looks do matter on this big stage. Only after the opening ceremony, when the entire world observes the contingent and their attire, is there a competition and a medal awarded. Regretfully, the administration let the indian contingent down, and the crowd is harshly criticising their parade outfit. 

The indian contingent donned kurta pyjamas and white sarees with the borders decorated in the colours of the indian flag. Not only did the fans not appreciate the extremely simple style, but they were also taken aback by the label's advertising. The fashion label's emblem was emblazoned around the edge of these garments. The fact that a massive business co-owns it has infuriated the supporters. It is an issue of national pride, and it is improper to utilise the platform for commercial brand promotion. 

One squad is gaining attention only for their attire, while the indian contingent was let down by a shoddy dress that many claimed was modelled after the Independence Day school events. Despite having a small population, mongolia sends a small delegation to the Olympics, yet the entire world is talking about their amazing attire. The indian management may learn a valuable lesson and find inspiration from this.
