Revanth reddy, the chief minister of Telangana, poked fun at the powerful members of the telugu film industry for their lack of response to the government's proposal for the gaddar Awards. revanth reddy declared earlier this year that the gaddar Awards, which would take the place of the Nandi Awards in the state, would be given to those who succeed in film during an event commemorating revolutionary vocalist Gaddar's birth anniversary.

The Nandi Awards, which were once given to those who achieved excellence in the film industry, have not been presented in recent years. Following his election to Telangana, revanth declared his administration was prepared to bestow accolades in Gaddar's honour.

Revanth solicited advice and ideas for launching these awards from the powerful figures in Tollywood. But nobody in the business took it seriously. revanth was disappointed by the telugu cinema industry's silence. revanth recently said at the C. Narayana reddy birth anniversary event that no one from tollywood approached the government with comments or advice, even though the government decided to replace the Nandi Awards with the gaddar Awards.

He said that although the government is still prepared to offer the gaddar Awards on december 9 each year, it is disappointed by the tollywood celebrities' lack of participation. Now that revanth has voiced his dissatisfaction with the tollywood establishment, it would be interesting to watch whether any of the industry insiders reach out to him in the next few days to talk about the gaddar Awards.
