Ten of the srisailam Project's twelve radial crest gates have opened in response to the influxes that have been increasing. Since tuesday night, more over 2.75 lakh cusecs of floodwater had been released through the gates. Water from the project has also been used by other sources, including the Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Scheme and the Pothireddypadu Head Regulator. Officials said that the hydel units on the left and right banks have been producing power to the fullest extent possible.

The srisailam project reservoir is almost at capacity, hence the people living in the krishna river catchment region have been advised to stay vigilant by nalgonda District collector C Narayana Reddy.

On Monday, the engineering officials opened the three project crest gates to let water to flow downstream, since there have been indications that the srisailam project would be completed.

In light of this, the collector requested that everyone exercise caution. "Everyone residing in the backwater area of the Nagarjunasagar project had to be vigilant. It is not appropriate for anyone to swim or do laundry in the river. It is advisable that fishermen avoid fishing in the river, he stated.

He gave the officials instructions to raise awareness among the residents of the affected areas and take action to avoid any property or human casualties.
