On Wednesday, delhi minister Atishi declared that 200 more establishments that were operating unlawfully as classrooms and libraries in their basements had received notices. As of yet, the basements of thirty coaching institutions have been sealed. Several coaching institutes, including Drishti IAS, Vajiram, sriram IAS, Sanskriti Academy, and IAS Gurukul, have had their basements shut.

Giving an update on the steps taken by the government in response to the three civil services aspirants who perished in the flooded basement of a coaching center, Atishi said that the Municipal Corporation of delhi has fired the junior engineer in charge of making sure there was no illegal activity, no encroachment, and proper maintenance of the drains.

She also stated that an assistant engineer who was in charge of making sure the drain was operating correctly and that the building completion certificate's norms and regulations were followed had been suspended.

“Action has been taken against these two officers. I want to assure the people of the country and delhi that we will take action against any officer irrespective of rank who is found guilty in the inquiry. The magisterial inquiry report will come in six days, and there will be strict action,” the minister told a press briefing.
