FASTag norms effective from august 1..!!

The new rules for FASTag, designed to facilitate toll payments and reduce congestion at toll booths, will come into effect from august 1. As per the new guidelines issued by the National Payments Corporation of india (NPCI), KYC verification should be done specifically for FASTag. It will be mandatory from august 1. While there are already many rules, the new KYC regulation for FASTag is going to be made mandatory. As per FASTag's new rules, KYC has to be completed by 31st October. Companies offering FASTag services will have to complete KYC by october 31 for all FASTags issued three to five years ago, and the process will begin on august 1. FASTag customers should ensure their KYC is updated during this period as per NPCI guidelines.
Important update for older vehicle owners: Starting on august 1, companies will have to follow NPCI directives. This includes renewal of KYC for FASTags that are 3 to 5 years old and replacement of those above 5 years by october 31. Vehicle owners are required to complete their KYC by October.New rules effective august 1:
1. Replacement of 5-year-old FASTags.
2. KYC Update for 3-year FASTags.
3. Linking of vehicle registration number and chassis number with FASTag.
4. Renewal of registration number within 90 days of purchase of a new vehicle.
5. FASTag providers should verify their databases.
6. Upload clear front and side photos of the car.
7. FASTag must be linked to a mobile number.
8. Completion of KYC requirements by 31st October.

As the new norms for FASTag will come into effect soon, vehicle owners should ensure that they update their FASTag details. Verification of KYC details, replacement of old FASTags, and linking of vehicle details should be completed by october 31. This is expected to improve the toll payment process and reduce traffic congestion.
