I am an enormous admirer of this initiative. In an era when hollywood seems to have run out of fresh ideas, M. Night persists in making imaginative, unique pictures that provoke viewers' thought processes. Is Trap flawless? No. Is it a truly enjoyable cinematic production? Indeed.

Trap is one of M. Night's more simple films, in contrast to some of her more intricate and multi-layered prior storylines. josh Hartnett plays a serial killer who brings his daughter to a concert only to find out later that it's a set-up to have him arrested. The fact that the movie never takes itself too seriously contributes to the plot's effectiveness. Throughout the movie, there are moments of lightheartedness and understated humor that help keep it concise.

Most significantly, viewers will always be on edge because of how unpredictable the story's narrative is. Despite all of the movie's positive aspects, I believe that its pacing is one of its drawbacks. Here, the pacing could have been a little quicker, which would put off some viewers.  Even yet, I was still rather interested in the material and wasn't put off by the tempo.

Josh Hartnett, meantime, is the second main reason this movie succeeds. Being someone who believes Hartnett's brilliance is highly underappreciated, I suppose I like him more than others. There must be a version of events wherein Hartnett emerged as one of the most significant leading men in hollywood throughout the past twenty years.

Hartnett had a great chance to become a lot more famous than he is today; I'm not sure what happened in the interim. Perhaps the ship hasn't set sail yet, though. Perhaps josh Hartnett is seeing a comeback thanks to Oppenheimer and now Trap. He keeps this movie going from beginning to end, which is concrete proof that Hartnett can carry a production. I sincerely hope josh Hartnett does more work after this film.

Summer 2024 proved to be a great summer for films, as it draws to an end. Before summer closes, M. Night Shyamalan made sure to give us one last delicious hit. This is just one more excellent summertime movie.
