During a crackdown on drunk driving that took place over the course of two days, on Friday, august 3, and Saturday, august 4, the Cyberabad traffic police arrested 509. There were 414 cyclists overall, most of them were two-wheeler riders. In addition, it was discovered that six heavy truck operators, 67 four-wheeler drivers, and 22 autorickshaw drivers were operating their vehicles while intoxicated. In addition, 12 people had blood alcohol content (BAC) readings that were abnormally high—roughly 300 mg/100 ml.

According to Section 185 of the Motor vehicles Act, driving while intoxicated is illegal and is punishable by a fine of Rs. 10,000 or up to six months in jail.
 
The traffic police underlined in a news statement that drinking impairs judgement and eyesight, which raises the possibility of accidents, which are frequently fatal. Repeat violators, however, risk having their licenses permanently revoked or suspended for extended periods of time.
 
In keeping with its campaign against drunk driving, hyderabad traffic police apprehended 298 drunk drivers on Saturday, July 27, of whom 70 received prison sentences ranging from two to eight days, as stated in a media statement. This has increased substantially.
