Redevelopment of the secunderabad railway station is underway, matching the speed of airports in its attempt to integrate cutting-edge features and contemporary design. At an estimated cost of Rs. 700 crore, the reconstruction project got underway in april 2023 and is scheduled to be finished in 36 months, or by the end of 2025.
 
To guarantee completion within the allotted time, Girdharilal Construction was given the job, which was started concurrently on both sides of the current station building.


In order to facilitate building work without interfering with passenger services, a temporary booking office was built in lieu of the old one on the north side.
 
Similar to this, the structural and plumbing work on the new Railway Protection Force (RPF) facility has been finished. Other renovations, such as foundation and civil frame work, were now underway.
 
Officials from South Central Railway (SCR) state that while the slab work for basements 1 and 2 has been finished, significant foundation-related work has been finished on the south side.
 

The south side's ground floor will serve as the departure passengers' drop-off location, and basement-1 will serve as this side's arrival passengers' pick-up location. There will be car parking available on basement level two, with space for over 200 four-wheelers.
 
The multi-level car park (MLCP) project is now under development on the north side, with plans to expand the facility across six stories. Additionally, work is underway to build a new foot over bridge that will go to Kazipet End.
 
With 26 lifts, 32 escalators, and 2 travelators, the renovated station will also have multi-modal connectivity to the east and west metro stations and the bus terminal.
