The Helping Hand Foundation (HHF), a nonprofit organisation, and wipro Care collaborated to build five lactation centres in Hyderabad. The data analysis revealed that around 35 percent of new moms are unable to nurse their infants for a variety of reasons.

According to HHF on Monday, of the 35 percent, nearly half are unable to breastfeed at all, 30 percent have health conditions that prevent them from doing so, and 25 percent are unable to breastfeed because they become pregnant frequently.

The purpose of the lactation management centres is to encourage nursing in a welcoming setting at home, at work, and in public areas. with addition to offering dietary assistance and advice to new moms, HHF is planning a number of awareness camps at lactation facilities to commemorate World Breastfeeding Week from august 1–7. This initiative aims to assist women with lactation.

Thankfully, because to this initiative, about 22% of the moms who had issues can now breastfeed since they have access to improved nutrition and guidance, according to HHF's Mujtaba Hasan Askari.

According to Dr. Ameena Afshan, Community Medical Officer of HHF-Wipro Primary health care centre, Pahadi Shareef, breastfeeding women' physical and emotional health, family support, nutrition, and routine counselling are the main foci of lactation management centres.
