The british actress daisy Ridley has disclosed that in september 2023, she received a diagnosis of Graves disease, an immune system ailment that causes an excess of thyroid hormones. "It was funny, I was like, 'Oh, I just thought I was annoyed at the world,' but turns out everything is functioning so quickly, you can't chill out," she said, describing her symptoms in an interview with Women's health magazine.
 
London-born Ridley rose to fame in 2015 after starring in Star Wars episode VII: The Force Awakens as the scavenger Rey. She played a major role in the Star Wars film series and went on to appear in several other science fiction films, such as "Star Wars: episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker," which came out in 2019.

The overproduction of thyroxine by the thyroid gland in patients with Graves' disease can have an impact on a person's look and energy level. The medical group Mayo Clinic states that although the condition is incurable, its symptoms can be managed. Famous for her role as Rey in Star Wars, daisy Ridley has disclosed that she has an autoimmune condition that is incurable.
