According to Euro news, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva declared at a news conference that all 62 passengers on board had perished and that there were no survivors. The aircraft went down close to a roadway in the heart of Sao Paulo.

The plane was scheduled to land in Sao Paulo at 1:40 pm, having taken off from Cascavel at 11:50 am. According to FlightAware, the aircraft was an ATR ATR-72.
 

Live flight tracker website Flightradar24 shared on X that the aircraft was built in 2010. “The aircraft involved is PS-VPB, a 14-year-old ATR72-500 built in 2010. The flight, #2Z2283, left Cascavel (CAC) at 14:56UTC bound for Sao Paolo (GRU). The last signal we received from the aircraft was at 16:22UTC,” the post reads.
