Two asteroids, 2024 KH3 and 2024 PK1, are scheduled to fly by Earth on august 10, 2024, according to NASA. nasa promises that these space pebbles will safely pass by at a significant distance even though they will travel pretty near to Earth.
2024 KH3, the first asteroid, is the size of a skyscraper. It is a member of the Amor group of asteroids and is categorized by nasa as a near-Earth asteroid (NEA). The speed of this asteroid is 41,125 kilometers per hour. nasa affirms that 2024 KH3 will not get any closer than anticipated and will pass through safely despite its speed and vicinity. It is anticipated that in june 2037, the asteroid will approach again.
Another asteroid, 2024 PK1, will also come close to Earth on the same day. This smaller asteroid is around 110 feet in size, similar to an aeroplane. It will travel 4,010,000 kilometres to get closer to Earth. Similar to 2024 KH3, 2024 PK1 is an asteroid that belongs to the Amor group and is a near-Earth object (NEO). These asteroids are still being observed by nasa and other space organisations. Based on all available information, Earth is not in danger and these celestial objects will pass through space without causing any harm to Earth.
