Vinesh Phogat's counsel argued that 100 grams is negligible..!?

Information has come out about the arguments put forward on behalf of indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat in the case against his disqualification from the 2024 paris Olympics. Vinesh Phogat advanced to the women's 50 kg wrestling final at the 2024 Olympic Games. Weight must be less than 50 kg at the morning weigh-in on the competition day. But Vinesh Phogat's weight was 100 grams more than 50 kg. She was disqualified for being 100 grams overweight. If she loses in the final, she will get a silver medal. However, the officials declared that the medal could not be awarded due to disqualification. So, heartbroken, she announced her retirement from wrestling.
Meanwhile, a case was filed in the international court of sports on behalf of the indian Olympic Association to give her a silver medal for advancing to the finals. Its trial lasted for two days. This is the argument put forward by Vinesh Phogat in it. "An extra 100 grams of weight is very small. It is only 0.2 percent of a female athlete's body weight. In hot weather, the human body may increase that weight due to the process of bloating. High heat causes the human body to store more water. This happens during hot weather. Also, she had played three matches the day before, so maybe she had more flesh on her body.""She may be taking food to maintain her energy between matches. She may be gaining weight because of this. She is not doing this to cheat or to gain an advantage over other players. But disqualifying her now after her hard work to reach the final is not fair. The silver medal should be given and it should be understood that she has won it because of her hard work." Thus the arguments were presented on her behalf. The final verdict in the case is expected on august 13.
