Good news..!! Soon diesel price will come down..!!?

While the central government is making several efforts to reduce crude oil imports in india, the government is gearing up to achieve the target of 20% ethanol blending in petrol as an important initiative. In this situation, the central government is currently studying the plan to mix 5% ethanol in diesel. It has been reported that last week an important meeting was held at the Prime Minister's office with all the Ministries belonging to this department regarding this new project. Ethanol blending in diesel will reduce the environmental impact and reduce the cost of importing crude oil, thereby benefiting people through pricing.
In May 2023, the average ethanol blend in petrol crossed 15% across the country. Biodiesel producers have made this goal much easier due to the increase in ethanol production in india over the past few years. The government is planning to develop infrastructure for blending ethanol into diesel. "Though blending ethanol into diesel would require the production of a large amount of green fuel ethanol, it would be good for the environment and would reduce crude oil imports and save foreign expenditure," a government official said.

The Automobile Research Organization of india (ARAI) conducted a trial run in BS-III and BS-VI buses using ethanol-blended diesel in 2018-19. It assesses vehicle performance, emissions, and durability. Similarly, the results of the study showed that there was no damage during the 500-hour test and the fuel consumption was slightly lower than normal diesel. However, additional tests should be conducted on BS-VI vehicles. A public sector crude oil company is expected to soon trial biodiesel blended fuel in a heavy vehicle. Union Petroleum minister Hardeep Singh puri recently confirmed in the rajya sabha that ethanol blending with diesel is currently under trial.
