Numerous movies are releasing this Independence Day weekend, all vying for viewers' attention during the longer holiday weekend. One of them, raghu Thatha by Keerthy suresh, was designed to take advantage of the holiday season. The movie's buzz, meanwhile, doesn't appear to be there.

Bollywood's top film is stree 2, with Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa vying for the remaining viewership. Movies like Mr. Bachchan, Double iSmart, and AAY are doing their hardest to fill cinemas in Tollywood. In the meantime, raghu Thatha, the tamil film starring Keerthy suresh, is getting little attention in tamil cinema due to the frenzy around Thangalaan and Demonte Colony 2.

Keerthy suresh picked this movie because of its compelling plot and moral lesson. However, there isn't much public enthusiasm for raghu Thatha given the abundance of programming with bigger personalities that is accessible this weekend. Perhaps the movie would have had a better chance if it had been released later and without any competition. As it is, the movie appears more appropriate for an OTT release, and theatergoers are probably not going to watch it. It would take nothing less than a miracle to save this movie from failing at the box office—word of mouth alone will not suffice.
