People were victims of fraud by builders…?


In Gurugram, the central investigation agency ED had attached many flats. The property was confiscated in a fraud case. But now the news is that ED is returning these flats to their owners. After the court order, flats are being returned to the buyers who had to fall prey to the fraud of the builders.

According to the PTI report, this is a case related to RSS Pearl, SRS City and SRS Prime of SRS Group, whose 78 flats will be returned to their real owners whose value is more than Rs 20 crore. On august 12, the tribunal under PMLA had ordered the ED to return these flats to the claimants whose value is Rs 20.15 crore.


The property attached in 2020 will now be returned

In fact, ED had attached property worth Rs 2,215 crore in january 2020. In which SRS Group was accused of cheating homebuyers. It was alleged that SRS Group had taken money from people for residential units but was unable to register the house in the name of those homebuyers. All these flats were registered in the name of SRS Group.


Action is being taken after the order of the supreme Court

ED had appealed to the tribunal. After this the matter went to the punjab and haryana High court and then to the supreme Court. The supreme court further directed that the real owners be verified so that the flats can be returned to them. ED officials said that extensive verification was done so that people could get justice. More homebuyers are yet to be confirmed who had booked the house but did not get the ownership rights. Their flats will also be returned.
