Police post in all medical colleges, haryana govt's advisory…
After the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in a medical college in Kolkata, an advisory has been issued to hospitals by the haryana government. In this, guidelines have been given for security in all medical colleges, government aided and private colleges of the state. It has been said that wherever CCTV and transport is needed in the college campus in view of security, complete it immediately. Send a compliance report to the headquarters within 48 hours. Orders have been issued by Dr. Sumita Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary of Medical education and Research Department. All medical colleges will keep licensing from their nearest police station.
All government medical colleges should have a police post which should be open 24 hours. At least one woman policeman should be deployed in it.
CCTV cameras should be installed in all hostels, gates, on the road and CCTV should be monitored 24 hours.There should be regular security patrolling.
Dr Sumita Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical education and Research Department has directed medical colleges to maintain close liaison with their nearest police station, SHO and DSP. The order further states that CCTVs should be installed outside all hostels, main gates, roads, roundabouts, campus in different hospital/college blocks and on every floor thereof. There should be a control room for security personnel to regularly monitor CCTV footage, with at least three months of storage recording backup, deployment of security guards in all OPDs and outer wards.
It has been suggested to conduct regular security audits to identify and address potential security risks while ensuring regular security patrols. There is a provision to implement secure access control for employees, including ID badges, keycards or biometric authentication. Apart from this, it has been asked to develop an emergency response plan.
