One filmmaker with a strong voice in tamil cinema is Pa Ranjith. His voice matters and cannot be disregarded, whether or not one agrees. Many were pleased when he said that he would be working with actor Chiyaan vikram in 2021. And as time went on, the anticipation rose, making it one of the most eagerly awaited movies of 2024. However, the movie fails to meet the expectations.

The narrative lacks interesting ascent sequences and moves slowly. 'Thangalaan' is a mediocre film, even with the outstanding performances of the main characters. The film is mediocre because of its dull first half and its complicated second half. One significant flaw in Ranjith's usage of sync sound is that it makes it difficult to follow their accent and interpret their feelings.

The film's overall effect is weakened by the convoluted political themes and mythological tales. Given the considerable production value of the movie, the visual effects are cheap and unimpressive. The background score and music by composer gv prakash Kumar, however, do manage to somewhat lift the picture. There are some brilliant stretches in the film, but such moments are sporadic and not consistently present throughout the film.
