CBI Identifies 30 Suspects Named By Victim's Family,-Kolkatta

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), handling the case of the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor in kolkata, revealed on friday that they have identified at least 30 individuals connected to the incident, based on names provided by the victim's family.

In the past three days, the cbi has questioned over 30 people and found several leads. The calcutta High court transferred the case from the kolkata police to the cbi on tuesday after the local police initially managed the investigation.

The victim's family suspects that colleagues from RG Kar Medical college and Hospital might be involved. They provided the cbi with names of interns and doctors who worked with their daughter. The cbi is focusing on interrogating these individuals, along with officers from the kolkata police who were part of the original investigation.

On friday, the cbi summoned a house staff member and two post-graduate trainees who were on duty the night of the murder. Former hospital principal Sandip Ghosh, who resigned shortly after the body was found and had voiced concerns about potential threats, was also escorted for questioning. Ghosh’s lawyer has sought protection from the calcutta High court, which advised him to approach a single bench for further assistance.
