With its recent release, kalki 2898 AD has become the sixth highest-grossing movie in indian cinema history, after Baahubali 2, kgf 2, rrr, and Jawan. Over the course of five days in its seventh week at the box office, kalki 2898 AD made over Rs. 3.6 crore. The movie has made Rs. 735 crore in india after 48 days of release. With the focus shifting to bollywood and Tollywood's Independence Day releases, kalki 2898 AD is anticipated to complete its run at about Rs. 740 crore.

This film now ranks as the third highest-grossing film from the telugu industry, after excluding kgf 2 and Jawan from the list. Here are the top-grossing tollywood films at the indian box office:

1. Baahubali: The Conclusion – Rs. 1350 crore
2. rrr – Rs. 895 crore
3. kalki 2898 AD – Rs. 740 crore
4. Salaar – Rs. 485 crore
5. Baahubali: The Beginning – Rs. 480 crore
6. pushpa – Rs. 360 crore
7. saaho – Rs. 335 crore
8. Hanuman – Rs. 245 crore
9. Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo – Rs. 226 crore
10. syeraa narasimha reddy – Rs. 195 crore

The top two movies on this list have made close to Rs. 1000 crore in revenue, while the tenth movie has barely made Rs. 200 crore. This is a stark contrast to the bottom of the list. The fundamental cause of this disparity is Baahubali's 2015 national triumph. While some movies only become regional blockbusters, those that succeed in breaking into the hindi market typically go on to dominate. With three big releases planned for 2024, pushpa 2 is one of them. It is predicted to gross above Rs. 300 crore and maybe make it into the top 10 highest-grossing tollywood films.
