Mr. Bachchan, directed by ravi teja and reimagined as an overly theatrical version of ajay Devgn's raid, struggled at the box office over the Independence Day weekend. The third day of the movie's release saw a sharp decline in revenue, with just 1 crore being made. Even over the weekend, the movie was a dismal bust, with cinemas barely managing 10% occupancy.

On its first day of release, the movie brought in 5.25 crore, including 1.80 crore from paid previews. On Day 2, though, it experienced a 65% decrease, earning just 1.1 crore. With just 1 crore in profits on Day 3, the downturn persisted. The well-performing tamil movies Thangalaan and ram Pothineni's Double iSmart presented Mr. Bachchan with fierce competition. The movie competes with other South indian movies such as stree 2, Vedaa, and Khel Khel Mein.

The original hindi movie had more interesting scenes with ajay devgn and saurabh shukla in particular, and a racier storyline. However, because of a lighter storyline, the telugu version lacks the same impact. Even with his attempts to dance like ANR, talk like amitabh bachchan, and sing like Kumar Sanu, ravi teja can't really excite us. The income tax raid plotline involving ravi teja and a television serial actress defies common sense as phone calls are placed and prominent people are met by the villains while the raid is still in progress.
