Mayor Shelly Oberoi angry over poor condition…?
Garbage disposal is a big problem in the central capital Delhi. delhi Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi has written a letter to the MCD Commissioner regarding this problem. In this letter, Mayor Shelly Oberoi has prominently mentioned many problems. Mayor Shelly Oberoi said in a letter to the MCD Commissioner that I want to bring to your notice the poor condition of garbage disposal in Delhi. Especially in the western and central zones, garbage collection in these areas has been irregular for the last few days. She further wrote, "Due to this, garbage is piling up on the roads. Dustbins are overflowing and the stench from the rotting garbage has become helpless. This issue has created an unhealthy environment, increasing the risk of dangerous diseases and ill health among the residents." 'Commissioner does not want to come out of the air conditioned office'
Alleging, Mayor Shaili Oberoi wrote, "This issue has been brought to your notice several times, but there has been no progress on it." She said that there is only a blame game going on between MCCI officials and garbage management contractors. The delhi Mayor said that as the MCD Commissioner, garbage management is the primary responsibility of the MCD and it is your responsibility to ensure that it is done properly. She said that however, it seems that you are not ready to come out of your air conditioned office.
The Mayor gave instructions to the MCD Commissioner
In a letter addressed to the MCD Commissioner, Mayor Shaili Oberoi wrote that you have been requested several times to bring me along to see the ground reality, but you have never done a single inspection with me. She said that if the officials do not come out of their air conditioned offices, the cleanliness situation in delhi will not improve. In this letter, she has given necessary instructions to the MCD Commissioner. Such as-
1. Ensure proper garbage collection and disposal across Delhi.
2. Take strict action against officials where garbage disposal is not happening on time.
3. From august 20 to september 2, bring me along for daily inspection in 12 MCD zones to ensure cleanliness and hygiene across the city.
The mayor said that garbage collection and disposal will be the personal responsibility of the MCD commissioner, who will be responsible for unhygienic conditions in any part of the city.
