Some good schemes have been implemented especially in telangana state. kcr government has launched a very good scheme to help poor girls financially for marriage. This is called the 'Kalyana lakshmi Scheme'. Through this scheme, when a girl gets married, her family will be given Rs.1,00,116/-. It is very difficult for poor families to afford wedding expenses. This scheme will give them some financial relief. Along with the reduction in wedding expenses, child marriages will also decrease. Because money will come through this scheme only if you get married when you grow up. Even for that money, parents can postpone their children's marriage. This scheme is very useful for girls who want to study after marriage. As of march 2018, 3,90,000 people have benefited.
After the formation of telangana state, this scheme was launched on october 2, 2014, when kcr was the Chief Minister. This scheme is a great program of telangana state government for poor families. When the scheme started, only families belonging to Dalit and tribal communities were given Rs 51,000. But later, the scheme was made applicable to all poor families in the state. In the year 2018-19, Rs.1,450 crore was spent on this scheme. It means that the government gives a lot of priority to the welfare of poor families. But the congress government has promised to give Tulum gold as well. But so far that promise has not been fulfilled.
Any girl above the age of 18 from any family in telangana can get help through this scheme. The combined income of the girl's father and mother should be less than 2 lakhs. This scheme is applicable to any girl belonging to any religion. This scheme is especially available for Muslim girls named 'Shadi Mubarak'. Apply for this scheme 10 days before marriage.
