arjun told the meaning of Raksha Bandhan
The actor says- 'With all that is happening, it feels strange to celebrate a festival that is related to protecting each other, protecting your sisters, protecting the women in your life, the women you love, the women you care about. Whereas we see so much suffering and lack of basic understanding and education among a lot of men.'
'Why are we not taught that...'?
arjun kapoor further said- 'When we celebrate Rakhi, we talk about being a brother, taking care. Why are we not taught how to make the environment so safe that all our sisters can roam around without a brother? Being physically around for protection and care all the time, yes, I know the scene is something that we have become used to that brother is security or man is security.'
Said this about men
The actor said- 'I think somewhere we need to teach other men that they need to make women feel safe and not teach men to protect women. This is a very big conversation. I think there is a lot of education in it. There is a lot of conversation and a lot of basic understanding which is lacking in our eco-system.'
