Doctors of govt hospitals protested against biometric…
Doctors of government hospitals in jharkhand boycotted the biometric attendance system on tuesday (August 19). Doctors termed it "impractical" for emergency services. Doctors claimed that they reached their workplace - hospitals and health centers - on time, but did not mark biometric attendance as a protest. During this, doctors marked attendance in the old way instead of biometric.
IMA, JHS boycott biometric
An official of the indian Medical Association (IMA) said that the decision to boycott the biometric attendance system was taken in a joint meeting of the jharkhand unit of IMA and jharkhand health services Association (JHSA) on august 11. This meeting took place after the government's order, in which all government employees have been asked to use the biometric attendance system. JHSA state secretary Mrityunjay Thakur Singh said that there is no mention of emergency services in the letter.
IMA expressed this concern
State Secretary Mrityunjay Thakur Singh said, "For general employees, the duty time has been fixed from 10:30 am to 5 pm, while for secretariat employees this time is from 10:30 am to 6 pm." He said, "Can doctors work in this fixed time period? If a doctor works extra hours in an emergency, will he be paid extra for the service? These things have not been clarified in the letter."
