"CBI Faces Hurdles in Polygraph Test for kolkata murder Suspect Amid Public Outcry"

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is encountering challenges with conducting a polygraph test on Sanjoy Ray, a 33-year-old civic volunteer accused of the rape and murder of a 31-year-old doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical college and Hospital. The case has triggered widespread protests and political controversy.

Polygraph Test: The polygraph test, which measures physiological responses to questions to determine truthfulness, is a key part of the investigation. The test had to be postponed due to the lack of legal representation but is expected to proceed once all legal requirements are met.

Security Concerns: The intense public anger and ongoing protests are a significant concern. The cbi is considering heightened security measures for Ray during court appearances to ensure his safety and manage the situation effectively.

Ray initially struggled to find a lawyer willing to represent him, which delayed the polygraph test. A legal aid counsel has now been appointed to explain the test’s details to Ray, and the process can proceed once he agrees.

Security concerns are also prominent due to the high level of public anger and protests. The cbi is considering increased security measures for Ray during court appearances.

The case has led to significant public demonstrations, scrutiny of hospital operations, and political fallout. The supreme court has requested a status update from the cbi, emphasizing the case's national significance. Despite the gravity of the charges, Ray is entitled to legal aid under the Constitution, ensuring a fair legal process.
