PM Modi on Russia-Ukraine Conflict During Visit to Poland

On Thursday, prime minister Narendra Modi expressed his appreciation to poland for its support in rescuing stranded indian students during the Ukraine-Russia conflict in 2022.

“I want to thank the government and people of poland for their assistance. The people of india will always remember the help you provided in rescuing our students during the ukraine crisis,” PM Modi stated in his address. He also thanked Polish prime minister Donald Tusk for the warm reception.

“I appreciate PM Tusk for his warm welcome here in the beautiful city of Warsaw. He has been a longstanding friend of india and has greatly contributed to strengthening the relationship between india and poland,” Modi added.

Regarding the ongoing conflicts in ukraine and West Asia, PM Modi expressed deep concern, stating, “India strongly believes that conflicts cannot be resolved through warfare. The loss of innocent lives in any crisis is a major challenge for humanity. We advocate for dialogue and diplomacy to quickly restore peace and stability.”

Prime minister Modi, who arrived in poland on Wednesday, is on an official visit to the country. He is scheduled to travel to Kyiv, ukraine, on august 23 for high-level discussions.

This visit marks the first time an indian prime minister has traveled to poland in 45 years and coincides with the 70th anniversary of official bilateral relations between New delhi and Warsaw.
