Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s campaign said friday in a pennsylvania court filing that he is backing donald trump for president, ahead of a scheduled address. Although it was not immediately apparent that Kennedy was officially withdrawing from the election, his independent campaign also asked to have his name removed from the pennsylvania ballot.

According to his campaign, Kennedy was scheduled to give a speech in Arizona on friday where he would talk about "the present historical moment and his path forward." trump is scheduled to conduct a rally in nearby Glendale a few hours later. Though neither of the trump campaigns answered queries inquiring as to whether Kennedy will be the guest, the campaign has hinted that he will be accompanied by "a special guest."

Kennedy's followers may give the former president a little lift due to the late developments in the presidential election.

That a member of probably the most illustrious family in Democratic politics would collaborate with trump to prevent a Democrat—Vice President Kamala Harris—from winning the presidency would have seemed unthinkable just a year ago. Kennedy has been accusing trump of forsaking his supporters even in the last several months, and trump has responded by labelling Kennedy as "the most radical left candidate in the race."

In a case where Kennedy was defending his papers to be on the ballot in the battleground state against a challenge by two Democratic activists, the pennsylvania filing was made on Friday.

In order to avoid appearing on Pennsylvania's ballot, the filing stated that he was seeking the deletion of his campaign's nomination papers "as a result of today's endorsement of Donald Trump."

Those familiar with the attempts claim that in recent weeks, the Kennedy and trump camps have increased their praises to one another and held private talks. For months, both parties have charged Democrats with exploiting the judicial system as a weapon to further their own agendas. Additionally, both have made overt suggestions that they could be willing to work together in order to lessen Harris' prospects.

Kennedy's son uploaded and swiftly removed a video from last month's Republican National Convention that showed Kennedy and trump speaking over the phone. In the clip, the former president seemed to be trying to persuade Kennedy to support him.

Close trump supporters were discreetly pressuring Kennedy to withdraw from the race and back the Republican nominee, according to a source familiar with the efforts who spoke on condition of anonymity to disclose private discussions. Talks between the two camps went on.

Trump said on tuesday on CNN that he would "love" to receive an endorsement from Kennedy, describing the senator as a "brilliant guy". Additionally, he stated that if Kennedy withdraws and supports him, he would "certainly" be open to Kennedy serving in his government.

In an open-minded podcast last week, Kennedy's running partner, nicole Shanahan, hinted that his campaign may "walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump." She made it clear that she is not speaking with trump directly, but she did consider the possibility that Kennedy would become the secretary of the Department of health and Human services in Trump's administration.
