On Friday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of ukraine, urged india to back his country in its battle with russia and to avoid adopting a neutral or balanced approach to the situation. Speaking to media following extensive discussions with prime minister Narendra Modi in Kiev, Zelenskyy also stated his intention to travel to india in the near future and establish contact with Indians.
 
Being the first indian prime minister to visit war-torn ukraine since the country's independence, PM Modi landed in Kyiv earlier in the day. Together with Zelenskyy, PM Modi had one-on-one and delegation-level discussions centered on finding a diplomatic solution to the Russia-Ukraine crisis, which has had a devastating effect on the international community.


Here's what Volodymyr Zelenskyy said after meeting PM Modi:

• "Want india to join us in ending the war, not in playing the balance." Soon, I hope to travel to india and make contact with Indians. india is crucial to putting an end to our conflict with Russia. Speaking exclusively to india Today TV, the president of ukraine stated that india is a significant nation in the globe and that it can play a significant role in promoting peace.

• In response to a question concerning his meeting with prime minister Modi, Zelenskyy stated, "It was a really productive and historic discussion. It was about the country and its people, not about PM Modi or me. I sincerely appreciate PM Modi visiting Ukraine."
 

• Referring to the four agreements that india and ukraine had signed earlier in the day, Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv was prepared to share its technologies with india in order to benefit both countries. "I believe that the four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) that we have signed with india are only the beginning. I informed the prime minister at the meeting that we are prepared to share our technologies with india," he continued.
