Tollywood indeed had a difficult year, with several well-known movies falling short of expectations. Critics have pointed out that movies that were supposed to be game-changers—especially those from well-known directors—have not lived up to expectations. It all comes down to the fact that, as of late, the top directors are becoming less endearing.
The third film produced by mahesh babu and trivikram srinivas, guntur Kaaram, drew harsh criticism from the production team. Even though it was out during Sankranti, the movie did poorly at the box office. Critics said that audiences are looking for new stories and that Trivikram's emphasis on well-worn emotional themes may have contributed to the film's dreary response.

Boyapati Srinu was another prominent director who had disappointments. Despite being a conventional action film filmmaker, ram Pothineni's skanda failed to make an impression on viewers. boyapati is known for providing crowd-pleasing entertainment, but his narrative style appears to be becoming less and less appealing.

Then, two well-known filmmakers utterly flopped last week. puri Jagannath and Double iSmart are one, while harish shankar and Mr. Bachchan are the other. The cringe fest and glitz exhibited in both movies earned criticism from both filmmakers. The absence of interesting substance in both movies was brought up by the viewers. This dual setback has heightened worries that Tollywood's leading filmmakers could be slipping in both skill and public confidence.

Although successful filmmakers like as trivikram and boyapati have established their long careers on particular formulae, the current situation implies that these formulas might not be sufficient to ensure success. It is obvious that audiences are ravenous for fresh, varied content, and filmmakers are under constant pressure to modify and advance their narrative strategies.

It's time for directors to get creative and create content-rich movies instead of depending on formulas and combinations, especially with the rise of OTT platforms and the availability of other entertainment alternatives.
