Hollywood heavyweights like james cameron and Steven Spielberg have hailed one of India's most successful directors, SS Rajamouli. With his film "Baahubali," SS rajamouli won over viewers from all over the world, yet one legendary actress declined to appear in it. Then, after "Baahubali," he extended that unique character to a supporting actress who went on to become a superstar.

Bollywood used to think that South indian movies were inferior, but in more recent years, SS Rajamouli's films have altered public perceptions of the genre. Talk about SS Rajamouli's films is happening everywhere these days, not just in India. Many celebrities now long for a five-minute part in an SS rajamouli movie, yet a seasoned bollywood actress previously turned down 'Baahubali' because the director would not give her the money she demanded.

We are speaking about none other than the late sridevi, a bollywood icon who was extremely well-liked for almost 25 years in both hindi and South indian movies.

When sridevi was initially contacted to play Sivgami Devi in "Baahubali," she refused, claiming she would need to be paid Rs 8 crore. The producers were reportedly facing costs of around Rs 15 crore, not counting Sridevi's accommodation and airfare, according to a News18 telugu report. Consequently, the director rejected this and decided to cast ramya krishnan in its place.

As to the media sources, the production budget of 'Baahubali: The Beginning' was Rs 136 crore. At the box office, the movie brought in around Rs 600 crore. Additionally, SS rajamouli stated in an interview that it was a good thing sridevi declined the part after witnessing ramya krishnan as Sivagami Demi.

During an interview, sridevi addressed speculations of a problem stemming from her fees. She clarified that she didn't turn down "Baahubali: The Beginning" because of financial difficulties, and if he had believed otherwise, she would not have participated in 300 films during her career.
