CCTV Footage Captures Sanjay Roy in Hospital Corridor Near Seminar Room


CCTV footage has emerged on social media showing Sanjay Roy, the accused in the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee PG doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical college and Hospital. The footage, obtained by News18 Bangla, shows Roy walking along the fourth-floor corridor of the medical facility on the night of august 9, shortly before the alleged crime. In the video, Roy is dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, holding a helmet that is part of the kolkata Police uniform. He is also seen with a Bluetooth device around his neck, which was later found at the crime scene and paired with Roy’s mobile phone.

Sources indicate that Roy was observed entering the seminar room but there is no footage of him exiting. Based on this CCTV footage and the Bluetooth device, kolkata Police arrested Roy, who later confessed to the crime during interrogation. According to cbi sources, Roy has been described as a “sexual pervert” and showed no remorse. The kolkata Police had previously discovered a significant amount of pornographic material on Roy’s phone before the investigation was transferred to the cbi by the calcutta High Court.

Case Background: The case involves the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical college and Hospital on august 9, while she was resting after her shift. Sanjay Roy, the main suspect, was arrested the following day. On august 14, amid ongoing protests, vandals targeted the medical facility where the victim's body was found. The calcutta High court ordered the transfer of the investigation from kolkata Police to the cbi on august 13.
