Nagarjuna Condemns Bulldozer Action on His Convention Centre in Telangana

The hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRAA) authority began demolishing actor Akkineni Nagarjuna’s N Convention Centre in Madhapur, ranga reddy district, telangana, on Saturday. This action is part of a broader initiative to remove illegal structures encroaching on water bodies and public land in the state. The demolition began early in the morning with HYDRA officials and police on-site to oversee the operation.

High court Issues Stay Order

In response to Nagarjuna's petition, the telangana High court intervened and issued a stay on the demolition. Nagarjuna's team released a statement confirming that Justice T vinod kumar granted the stay order following the actor's appeal. The High Court's interim order halted the demolition process.

Violation Allegations

The N Convention Centre, which spans 10 acres, has been accused of violating land use and environmental regulations. Reports suggest the center encroached on the Tummidikunta lake, including 1.12 acres within the Full Tank Level (FTL) and an additional 2 acres within the lake’s buffer zone.

Actor's Response

Nagarjuna expressed his frustration with the demolition, calling it unlawful. On X, he stated, “I am pained by the unlawful manner of the demolition of N Convention, which occurred despite existing stay orders and ongoing court cases. I am issuing this statement to clarify the situation and defend my reputation, asserting that we have not acted against the law.”

Nagarjuna claimed the land where the convention center was built is Patta land and that no tank plan land was encroached upon. He stated, “The land is Patta land, and no tank plan land has been encroached. The building on private land had a stay order against previous illegal demolition notices. Today’s demolition was based on misinformation and was wrongful.”

The actor also noted that no prior notice was given before the demolition. He expressed his intent to challenge the action in court, saying, “No notice was issued before the demolition. As a law-abiding citizen, if the court had ruled against me, I would have managed the demolition myself. I am clarifying these facts to correct any public misconceptions about wrongful constructions or encroachments by us. We will seek appropriate relief from the court for the wrongful actions taken by the authorities.”
