Sanjay Roy’s Mother Claims He’s Being ‘Framed,’ Neighbors Describe Him as ‘Nasty Guy’

Sanjay Roy, the accused in the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee PG doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical college and Hospital, is at the center of conflicting narratives as social media and public discourse fill with mixed accounts.

Family Reactions

Roy’s mother has asserted that her son is innocent and has been unjustly implicated. She told india Today, “If I had been stricter, this might have been avoided. His father was very strict, and he worshipped him. With my husband’s death, everything went wrong. My once-beautiful family is now just a memory.” She added, “If someone has framed him, that person will face justice.”

His elder sister, while expressing shock, stated that if Roy is guilty, he should face the full force of the law. “I find it hard to believe he could commit such a crime, but if he did, he must be punished as per the law,” she said.

Neighborhood Reactions

Residents of Roy’s neighborhood in Bhabanipur describe him negatively. According to NDTV, local women have labeled him as a “nasty guy,” citing his inappropriate behavior towards women. “He ogled at women; we would shut our doors to avoid him,” one woman reported.

Mother-in-Law’s Accusations

Roy’s mother-in-law has demanded the harshest punishment for him, claiming he had a history of violence. She alleged that Roy physically abused his ex-wife, leading to a miscarriage. “My relationship with him was very strained. He caused a miscarriage when my daughter was three months pregnant. He beat her, and we had to file a police complaint. I had to cover all her medical expenses,” she said, adding that Roy should be “hanged” or face severe consequences for his actions.

CBI Investigation

According to cbi sources, Roy is being investigated as a potential “sexual pervert” and has shown no remorse. The cbi noted that Roy had been found with pornographic material on his phone, and he reportedly visited a red-light area before the alleged crime. His mother mentioned that Roy developed an alcohol addiction after his first wife died of cancer.

Roy was taken into custody on august 10, a day after the victim’s body was discovered in a seminar hall at the hospital.
