Nari Hira, Founder and Editor of Stardust Magazine, Passes Away

In an official statement quoted by Exchange4media, Hira's family expressed deep sorrow over his death, remembering him as a pioneering figure in print media, a devoted family man, and an incomparable father. They described his passing as a profound loss.

Born in Karachi in 1938, Hira and his family relocated to mumbai following the partition of india in 1947. He began his journalism career in the 1960s and later ventured into publishing. His magazine, *Stardust*, gained fame for its sensational coverage of Bollywood, revealing controversies and gossip about celebrities. This often led to legal issues, with defamation suits from prominent figures like amitabh bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and salman khan, and accusations of privacy invasion.

Despite facing criticism for its gossip-centric content, *Stardust* had a notable influence on indian popular culture, earning Hira the title of the ‘King of indian Magazines.’ He was also recognized with several awards for his contributions to publishing, including the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the indian Magazine Congress.

Hira was known for his privacy and little is known about his personal life. His son, Rahuul Hira, has succeeded him as the managing director of Magna Publishing.
