Expectations were high as Neeraj Chopra took the field in Lausanne. With a throw of 87.66 meters in 2022, the indian javelin star took first place in the Lausanne Diamond League. A year later, with a throw of 89.08 meters, he placed first on the podium. However, it appeared like the indian supporters would have a dismal evening when the first throw was made and it landed at the 82.10 m.
 
On that particular day, Neeraj didn't appear right, and competitors like Julian Weber and Anderson Peters finished ahead of him. For the first time in 2174 days, the indian star appeared destined to finish outside the top 3 and fail to get on the podium. Then, though, Neeraj made his second-best throw of his career and cleared the 89.49-meter barrier as if by magic. He was able to maintain his position in the top 3 of the Diamond League's overall rankings and move up to the second slot thanks to this.
 
All eyes will be on the indian star as he attempts to surpass the 90-meter barrier, even though he will return to Zurich next. Neeraj has been pursuing the dragon, known as the mark, for a while now. He has dismissed claims that he is overly preoccupied with it and has entrusted it to God. However, the indian celebrity should shortly surpass the milestone.
 
It's no secret that Neeraj hasn't been 100% healthy for a while. He was scheduled to see physicians and have surgery following the Olympics. To end the season on a high note, the indian star chose to postpone the plan for the time being.
 
Even though Neeraj might not hit the 90 million mark this year, after all of his problems are resolved, don't rule out the possibility. Neeraj might be the last person to cross the finish line if he is in perfect physical condition.
