Sunday's vehicle accident and related stabbing incident in Sydney, Australia, injured four individuals, including a police officer, according to ABC News. "A crash and suspected stabbing" happened at a highway crossing in the Engadine area at about nine in the morning, according to a statement from the police. According to authorities, no one was killed in the incident.
 
When officers got there, they saw a guy who looked like he had been stabbed fleeing the area.


The guy was subdued and arrested by police using a Taser. During the arrest, a male police officer sustained a cut to his left wrist.
 
Prior to being placed under arrest, the 55-year-old suspect allegedly stabbed himself and other people, according to Sky news Australia.
 
Multiple stab wounds were sustained by a 40-year-old lady who was, according to authorities, a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the collision. After having a heart attack, another individual needed medical care at the location.
 
Due to a wave of knife assaults that have occurred in Sydney this year, the state government of New South wales has strengthened its knife legislation.
 

The state parliament approved rules in june that let police to use electronic metal-detecting scanners to check individuals without a warrant at public transportation hubs, retail centers, and sporting arenas, according to news agency Reuters.
 
A knife assault at a mall in Sydney's Bondi neighborhood in april resulted in six fatalities and twelve injuries.
