Leader of the Opposition in the lok sabha, rahul gandhi, launched a new assault on the narendra Modi-led central government on saturday by claiming that no lady from the OBC, Dalit, or tribal communities was selected for the Miss india beauty competition.

"I looked through the Miss india list to see whether any ladies from the Dalit, tribal, or OBC communities were represented, but I couldn't find any. Nevertheless, he claimed, "the media talks about Bollywood, dance, music, cricket, and cricket, but not about farmers and laborers."

The former head of congress reaffirmed his call for and the significance of carrying out a national caste census, arguing that it was more than simply a count and that it provided the basis for sensible legislation. Speaking at a Samvidhan Samman Sammelan in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, rahul gandhi said that 90% of people did not belong to the system even if they have the necessary abilities, knowledge, and skills.

In addition, the congress leader emphasized that, aside from conducting a caste census, it was critical to see how the money was allocated among the 90% of the people that did not receive any advantages.

Ninety percent of the population does not use the system. Despite lacking the necessary aptitude, expertise, and understanding, they are not part of the system. We are calling for a caste census because of this. After the caste census, an OBC component would be granted, according to bjp officials," he stated.

"We would want a list of several communities. For us, the caste census serves as a basis for policymaking rather than merely being a census. It is crucial to comprehend the distribution of wealth in addition to performing a caste census, the speaker stated.

"It is also important to find out how much the participation is of OBCs, Dalits and workers in the bureaucracy, judiciary and media?" he stated.

In its manifesto, the congress vowed, if elected to power, to carry out a countrywide socio-economic caste census to count the castes and sub-castes and their socio-economic situations during the lok sabha election campaign.

Speaking during an april election rally, rahul gandhi said that the congress will carry out an institutional and financial study to determine the country's wealth distribution if it were to establish the federal government.

Prime Minister narendra Modi, however, sharply retaliated to rahul Gandhi's pledge, claiming that the congress will give the nation's riches to "infiltrators" and "those who have more children". PM Modi's comments caused a massive fracas within the Opposition.
